Posting Summary
Provide operational oversight of all laboratory activities for a research laboratory in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics department. Develop, plan, execute, and troubleshoot novel highly complex experiments and high-throughput methods. Conduct complex, specialized laboratory experiments in biochemistry, enzymology, molecular cloning and protein expression. Responsible for research experiments crucial to future grants and publications. Serve key role in grant and manuscript writing and editing. Lead on problem solving, protocol writing and troubleshooting, workflow planning and functional supervision of staff, postdocs, graduate & undergraduate students, equipment maintenance, and data analysis. Provide critical oversight on the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Serve as the primary resource, resident expert, and trainer on complex and specialized research techniques and equipment within the lab and department at large. Use advanced computer systems for both research and operations management.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Genetics or related science and four years related experience required. Significant previous laboratory experience in biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology. Proficiency with computers, scientific software, spreadsheets and databases is essential. Effective organizational and time management skills required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range 48,000-56,000
