Job Description

The Intensive English Institute (IEI) has part-time adjunct instructor positions available for 8-week sessions. Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of skills-based courses in the Intensive English Institute (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, etc.).

Instructors will teach a variety of skills-based courses in the Intensive English Institute (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, etc.); hold office hours; participate in professional development meetings; attend cohort and faculty meetings; collaborate with the administrative team and IEI colleagues to develop, revise, and improve the curriculum and procedures of the IEI.

The Intensive English Institute (IEI) has part-time adjunct instructor positions available for 8-week sessions held during the fall semester in August 2024. Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of skills-based courses in the Intensive English Institute (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, etc.).

Job Function:

Minimum Experience:

MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or closely related field, or MA in addition to an ESL certification, language teaching/education coursework, or language teaching experience; high level of English language proficiency; at least one year of experience teaching at the college or university level.

Preferred Experience:

Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Second Language Acquisition (SLA) or closely related field by date of appointment; experience in curriculum revision and design; experience teaching multi-level courses; experience with project-based learning and teaching; experience teaching in Canvas; ability to work as part of a team; willingness to learn and adapt to departmental expectations; at least two years of experience teaching at the college or university level.
