Purpose of Position | The Department of English at Christopher Newport University invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of English, effective August 2024. This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track, one-year appointment with a nominal teaching load of 4-4. The position is renewable for one additional year. The individual will predominantly teach freshman and sophomore writing seminars to help students succeed within and beyond the university. We seek a candidate with a terminal MA or MFA, or a Doctoral degree in English or a related field, and/or significant teaching experience in composition studies. Training in media rhetoric and design, health industry, public advocacy, or workplace writing is highly desirable, but not required. |
