Position Title Adjunct Faculty - Dance/Movement Therapy
Position Description
The Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) for Summer Session I (beginning on May 13, 2024) for the following positions:

  • On-site DMT Supervision. DMT supervisors with board certification (BC-DMT) will provide onsite supervision to DMT internship students at their clinical sites. DMT supervisors will observe DMT sessions led by each intern, meet for one-hour supervisory discussion after each session, and submit a report to the university faculty supervisor.

  • Teach CNDT 612 Movement Observation, Analysis, and Assessment in Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy. The course meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for five weeks.

Position Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and board certification (BC-DMT) are required for providing on-site DMT supervision.
  • For teaching CNDT 612 Movement Observation, Analysis, and Assessment in Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy, advanced training or certification in movement observation, analysis, and assessment (ex: Laban Movement Analysis, Kestenberg Movement Profile, Movement Psychodiagnostic Inventory, and others) is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a multicultural and inclusive perspective to developing DMT competencies in students is required for both positions.

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience
  • Five years of clinical experience in DMT and prior teaching experience at the graduate level.
