Summary Statement Involves designing, conducting, supporting, and managing comprehensive education program for K-12 students. Creates a flexible program and environment supporting personal growth in accordance with each student's ability. Supports students, families in adjusting to structured educational environment, and making appropriate lifestyle, career and vocational choices.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced educator to resolve a wide range of K to 12 educational issues and needs assessments. Performs decision analysis and makes decisions of consequence to determine how best to provide individualized instruction to children with a wide range of learning needs. Demonstrates good judgment in application and interpretation of data, facts, procedures and policies. Receives general instructions and exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for classroom and instructional improvement. Uses full knowledge of course subject matter and program. Meets frequently with staff, students and parents. Demonstrates shared leadership with experienced teachers in achieving school's goals. The incumbent must have an educational background in physical sciences, AP Physics and hold California single-subject credential that allows them to teach Physics 1, 2, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism.

Qualifications / Competencies Bachelor's degree in related area.

An educational background in physical sciences, AP Physics and hold California single-subject credential that allows them to teach Physics 1, 2, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism.

Student teaching internship or full-time teaching experience in secondary education.

Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques and strategies pertaining to teaching and instruction.

Thorough understanding of child growth and development principles and theories.

Thorough understanding of behavior modification strategies, techniques and methods, conflict resolution procedures.

Proven ability to select and use educational materials, supplies, equipment, technology and learning aids.

Proven ability to plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive teaching and instruction program.

Strong ability to provide effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and with varying mental, social and emotional maturity.

Strong ability to effectively assess the educational needs of pupils, and design develop and implement individual remediation and educational plans.

Strong ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form using grammatically correct language.

Strong organizational skills sufficient to prioritize workload and maintain quality standards.

Knowledge of online learning and teaching strategies, pedagogy, and best practices in online instruction.

Secondary teaching experience in science education.

Demonstrated ability to create original curriculum and instructional materials.

Experience teaching online using a Learning Management System (LMS).

Familiarity with iNACOL and Quality Matters standards.

Teaches content and skills in assigned subject matter following established guidelines designed to meet individual needs and motivate students. Teaches online courses in Physics 1, 2, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism and Advanced Placement Physics.
Develops and is responsible for creation of original content, curriculum, scripts for online course videos, syllabi, and instructional materials for online courses.
Uses adopted course of study, program outlines and other materials to provide sequential assignments to students.
Evaluates and records pupil progress.
Selects appropriate educational supplies, equipment and learning aids and maintains required inventory records.
Supervises students, evaluates student performance, and facilitiates online classroom activities.
Performs on camera in the development of instructional videos.
Communicates with students, parents and staff through a variety of means for education-related purposes, outside the instructional day.
Under supervision, reviews, analyzes and evaluates history and background of pupils to modify established educational program to meet specific needs.
Models and encourages students to understand and adopt the use of proper social habits.
Maintains professional competence through ongoing education.
Participates in faculty and other non-classroom meetings / committees.
Attends and participates in professional development, conferences, and training opportunities.
