Description of Job Duties
Teaching: Will teach 2 sections in the Emporium Model of supported math courses in the fall and two in the spring


Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining the redesign of MAT 1053, 1073, and 1093 in the Emporium Model.

Provide continued evaluation of course materials and update as needed.

Ensure updates to course materials, including semester course schedules, are posted to website.

Conduct research and development of teaching pedagogies appropriate for Emporium Model in teaching math that includes Student Development and Active Learning theories for a diverse student body.

Help plan and conduct training of faculty and other key staff in the Emporium Model and course materials.

Provide continued mentoring and evaluation of faculty teaching targeted courses using the Emporium Model.

Coordinate with Math Matters Student Success Center (MMSSC) staff to develop, deliver, and refine Peer Learning Assistant training on course materials prior to the start of each semester as part of the Math Matters’ Student Employee Training Academy.

Work with MMSSC staff to ensure and maintain accurate data collection, maintain student confidentiality by securing all data collected and assist with data analysis.

In coordination with MMSSC staff, suggests instructional and support strategies for student success in Mathematics, including ways to reduce stress anxiety. Works with MMSSC staff to improve understanding of learning issues in mathematics and to provide appropriate support based on student needs, particularly for educationally disadvantaged and learning-disabled students.
