The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for a full-time, benefited, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach courses in writing and communication and contribute to an interdisciplinary curriculum in Science, Technology, and Society. The preferred candidate will have interests and experience in STEM communication and interdisciplinary studies (whether based on credentials or equivalent experience) and a focus on linkages between STEM disciplines and the liberal arts. Expectations for the position include teaching writing and technical communication skills for students in the sciences and engineering, with additional opportunities to offer STEM-related courses in topics appropriate to the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate will have a PhD in English, composition, communication, interdisciplinary studies, environmental humanities, or an appropriate related field.

Established in 1885, the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology is a science and engineering research university located in Rapid City, South Dakota.
