Job Description:
Budget Title: Assistant for Institutional Research (SL-3)

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

Binghamton University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Enrollment Management Research Analyst. The ideal candidate would be intellectually curious, a creative thinker and have the ability to communicate patterns, trends and stories with enrollment data. The individual in this position will assist the Enrollment Management team in turning data into information, information into insight and insight into strategic decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as a member of the Enrollment Management Research Team
Develop an understanding of how the data associated with Financial Aid and Student Records interacts with the Undergraduate Admissions data to impact Enrollment Management as a whole
Support the development and interpretation of Enrollment Management dashboards, queries, and reports to ensure unit areas are providing consistent and accurate data
Identify correlations in University data to identify factors that can be used to improve student outcomes, recruitment and student retention
Work as a member of the internal Enrollment Management team tasked with implementing SAS Enterprise Guide and Visual Analytics

Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree with one to two years relevant work experience in Higher Education or
Data Analytics or Master's degree from a Social Science program with a strong quantitative research methods component
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

Exceptional level of attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated with strong work ethic
Ability to recognize and flexibly manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive deadlines
Capacity to adapt and learn new and changing technology
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to broad audiences
Knowledge of basic methods and procedures of quantitative data analysis and the ability to apply them
Preferred:

Experience using analytical and quantitative skills including an understanding of statistical concepts and basic predictive modeling as applied to higher education or social science research
Demonstrated ability to visualize data and provide contextual information in a logical, easy to understand manner; specifically, experience creating dashboards, charts, and tables to visualize information
Experience using business intelligence tools (SAS Visual Analytics, Enterprise Guide, Tableau, OBEII, Cognos or equivalent)
Experience using statistical software packages (SAS, R, Stata, etc.)
