The Biology Department at Whittier College invites applicants for the following positions:

Visiting Assistant Professor in Cell and Molecular Biology

At this time, the Biology Department is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Cell and Molecular Biology with the possibility of renewal based on curricular need and performance. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or an M.S. (with significant college-level teaching experience) in molecular and cellular biology and preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in genetics. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and the potential to teach a variety of cellular level courses. Specifically, this one-year, full-time visiting position carries a 24 unit teaching load. Course responsibilities will be dependent on the candidate's areas of expertise, but may include both introductory and upper-level biology laboratory courses, and courses for our liberal arts curriculum.

Visiting Assistant Professor in Human Anatomy and Physiology

The Biology Department is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Human Anatomy and Physiology with the possibility of renewal based on curricular need and performance. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master's level education in Biology or any health related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence. Specifically, this one-year, full-time visiting position carries a 24 unit teaching load. Course responsibilities will include two sections of Human Anatomy and Physiology with laboratory and a connections course supporting our liberal arts curriculum.

The Biology Department is accepting applications for a Laboratory Instructor position to teach introductory level laboratories in Cell and Molecular Biology. Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in biology and demonstrated proficiency with basic molecular techniques. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching.
