Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITIONS IN TUMOR METASTASIS are available immediately for highly motivated and creative young scientists to investigate the molecular basis of tumor dissemination and metastasis dormancy. Specifically, our previous work show that two cellular programs, Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) and invadopodia-mediated extracellular matrix degradation play critical roles in tumor metastasis. We identified a number of upstream regulators of EMT and invasion, such as matrix stiffness and epithelial polarity. We recently established novel mouse models to study breast cancer metastasis dormancy regulation by immune cells and other stroma signals. Various projects are available to utilize 3D organoids, mouse tumor models, cell and molecular biology tools, functional genomics, and advanced imaging techniques to uncover novel biochemical and biomechanical signaling pathways responsible for tumor dissemination and metastasis dormancy. Successful candidate must hold a recently obtained PhD-level degree with strong background in cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
