Job Description

The Low-Energy Electronic Systems (LEES) Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to complement a growing team of battery researchers. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to participate as an individual contributor on a team designing, synthesizing and characterizing new electrode and solid-state electrolyte thin film materials, and using these materials to fabricate and test patterned thin film micro-battery devices. In addition to research activities, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to take an active role in mentoring junior scientists in the laboratory, proposal writing, and reporting for the team.

Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will have a PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related areas and have the following research experience:
- Experience in processing and characterization of thin film materials;
- Experience in characterization of battery performance, including for thin-film battery devices;
- Experience working in a team-based applied-research environment;
- Published research in electrochemical energy research.

The most qualified candidates will also have the following demonstrated experience:
- Writing scientific reports;
- Ability to work independently and as a team;
- Experience working with researchers of diverse backgrounds across multiple time zones;
- Good command of written and spoken English.
