Colorado Christian University is currently looking for a qualified instructor to teach private piano with a classical and jazz emphasis at the undergraduate level at our main campus location in Lakewood as an affiliate faculty member. The Affiliate faculty are experienced professionals, contracted on a course-by-course basis, as needed. CCU's affiliate faculty members will integrate their evangelical Christian faith in the classroom leaders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach half-hour or hour long lessons to students on a weekly basis (arranged around your schedule and the student's schedule).
Prepare students for the jury at the end of the semester and for open student recitals throughout the semester.
Prepare students for half and full recitals throughout their program.
Attend jury at the end of the semester during finals week.
Enter final grade in WebAdvisor.
If a half or full recital is given, attend the recital and complete grading sheet.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Master's degree or higher in subject area.
Three to five years of higher education teaching experience preferred.
Passionate about higher education and dedicated to student success.
Nature of Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk; stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; speak with clarity, have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities.

Adjunct/Affiliate faculty are contracted on an as-needed basis and are not benefits eligible.

Spiritual Requirements

Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
