The Section of Hematology/Oncology of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time faculty position at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio (CH of SA). This position comes with a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, a competitive salary, and full benefits package. The rank of the appointment will be determined by the candidates’ credentials and experience.
Responsibilities include medical director oversight of the newly established pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program at CH of SA; teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and staff; active involvement in inpatient quality, safety, and administrative activities; and protected time for academic/scholarly activities in clinical informatics, outcomes research, child advocacy, education, or quality improvement.
- Manage outpatient and/or inpatient care for Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant patients in a tertiary hospital setting. Inpatient attending time includes night and weekend calls and rounds.
- Education and supervision of trainees including fellows, residents and advanced practice practitioners.
- Perform procedures (bone marrow, lumbar puncture) on patients as indicated.
- Serve as backup and consultant for Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers physicians at our network of community hospitals.
Minimum Education: M.D. or D.O. degree. Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration Licensed by the Texas Medical Board. Board certification in Hematology/Oncology (or eligible for same).
