Job Description

The Autism Center at Texas Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), Section of Psychology seek applicants for a psychologist to provide services within the Autism Center at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH).

The psychologist will work full-time in the Autism Center at TCH, which serves children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as their families. The position will include conducting psychological assessments, in many cases as part of an interdisciplinary team. Other responsibilities may include collaborating with research activities and supervision of externs, interns, and fellows within the Section of Psychology. The position comes with an academic appointment at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Psychology.

Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA- or CPA-approved program and will have substantial prior assessment experience with children with ASD. Additionally, applicants must be licensed, or license-eligible, in the state of Texas. Training in the ADOS/ADI-R and at least one year of experience in an interdisciplinary ASD clinic is preferred. A candidate who is bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred but not required.

The successful applicant will join one of the largest Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology programs in the country, with outstanding training programs at the graduate, internship, and postdoctoral levels. TCH is the largest children's hospital in the United States and the primary teaching/training center for the Baylor College of Medicine’s (BCM) Department of Pediatrics. TCH was designated by U.S. News and World Report in 2018-2019 for Honor Roll status in pediatrics, ranking 4th overall, and it is situated in Houston, one of the most diverse cities in the country. TCH is dedicated to serving a diverse, multicultural patient population, many of whom are under-served, and in recruiting faculty members who reflect the rich diversity of our community.
