Responsibilities:

Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach Art 194, Special Topics in Art: Art, Technology and Visual Culture in the undergraduate program in Spring 2020.

Thursdays, 9:15am - 12:30pm

This is an art practice course that looks at how culture is expressed visually through art, design and technology. Questions on the purpose and nature of art and the way it is subjected to social forces are explored in both discussion and practice, as students learn how to creatively manipulate images in both 2D and 3D forms using different materials and technologies. In addition to a final project, students will provide written documentation of their work thorough an artist statement.

Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of college teaching experience as well as experience teaching this course is required. MFA preferred.
