Job Summary
Technical position in a laboratory dedicated to comparative studies of sepsis, inflammation, while carrying out quantitative analysis and data science projects.

Responsibilities*
Support research conducted by investigators and residents. Primarily work with in vivo models of disease. Anesthesia, minor surgery, animal care. Work with and lift research pigs. Perform routine research techniques including: PCR, immunoassays, cell isolation, tissue culture, with General lab duties such as prepare reagents, equipment maintenance, inventory, and lab organization.

Perform data extraction from databases and website. Carry out data cleaning, parsing, processing and associated statistical inferential analysis and reports.

Conduct data queries and generate visual reports.

Develop data mining and processing pipelines from research model data.

Develop and train Machine Learning models.

Incorporate ML/Deep learning techniques to accomplish research goals.

Required Qualifications*
Candidate must HS Diploma or Associate Degree and 1-3 years’ experience required

Skilled in Python and associated data science libraries, SQL/SQLite, and Git.

Must be organized with excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn.

Min 1 year experience in pig surgical operations.

Min 1 year experience in pig and mice handling.

Min 3 year research experience in lab setting.

Being able to lift reasonably large animals.

Min 2 years commitment.

Desired Qualifications*
Bachelor’s degree preferred

Previous experience with murine CLP sepsis model and animal anesthesia.
