Position Summary

The College of Business at Arkansas Tech University, accredited by AACSB, has a faculty opening for a full-time, tenure track position to teach courses in accounting, with a starting date of August 2020. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and consideration will be given at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Business.
Engage students in high-impact learning practices.
Develop a sustainable scholarship program.
Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community, and state.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Accounting (or ABD with completion prior to February 15, 2021) from a regionally accredited institution or LL.M. in Taxation from an institution accredited by the American Bar Association plus Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Ability to develop a sustainable research program that could incorporate undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal degree from an AACSB-accredited institution.
Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and graduate students.
Demonstrated abilities in accounting, particularly taxation and accounting information systems.
Experience with online instruction.
Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in accounting and/or recent professional experience in accounting or taxation.
Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.
Experience with AACSB standards and accreditation processes.
Evidence of engagement with undergraduate or graduate students in student organizations, projects, research, or other experiential learning activities.
