I am seeking an individual with a strong background in cell biology to study the molecular underpinnings of secretion in cancer. A growing body of evidence shows that cancer cells acquire mutations in genes that drive secretory vesicle biogenesis in the Golgi, leading to a hypersecretion of factors that mold the tumor microenvironment and promote metastasis. This position will be dedicated to developing and characterizing murine and cellular models that recapitulate hypersecretory cancers. Project will be highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary (autochthonous tumor models, 3-dimensional cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, and advanced microscopy).
