Job Summary/Basic Function:
We are seeking for Bioinformatics Programmer for our Translational Research Laboratory in The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In this role, we are looking for an individual who will develop data analysis pipelines to support analysis of massively parallel sequencing of cancer samples for patient care. This individual will also work with Public Genomic/proteomic/array data such TCGA/GEO datasets, develop webtools which supports user-based analysis/interpretation or clinical response analysis.

Requirements:
• MS/PhD in bioinformatics or related field
• Knowledge of bioinformatics methods, data structures, programming and implementation
• Knowledge of genomics and cancer biology
• Experience with sequencing data, genetic variant calling, variant analysis, annotation, and filtering
• Knowledge of R, Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting, HTML, PHP, Javascript, and associated libraries, Python
• Knowledge of statistics and ability to work with large genomics datasets
• Communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel
• Good Project management skills

Minimum Degree Required: Masters Degree
