Summary

Position located in Santa Fe, Texas.  Willing to consider part-time or full-time applicants.

The Trauma and Grief (TAG) Center at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine seeks to fill a Social Worker position at the City of Santa Fe Resiliency Center. This position will be based in Santa Fe, TX and will involve implementing evidence-based assessment and trauma-informed interventions for traumatized and/or bereaved youth and adults who were impacted by the school shooting at Santa Fe High School on May 18, 2018. This person may also be involved in the training and dissemination of these practices nationally as part of a series of trainings hosted by our TAG Center, a Category II Treatment and Service Adaptation Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. The position requires close collaboration with treatment developers to support monitoring of fidelity to treatment and refinement of interventions to ensure cultural attunement. The position also involves working within a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians.

Job Responsibilties
  • Implement evidence-based assessment and trauma-informed interventions.   
  • Train and disseminate practices nationally. 
  • Collaborate with treatment developers to support monitoring of fidelity to treatment and refinement of interventions to ensure cultural attunement.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Master's degree in Social Work from a school approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Experience:
  • Required: One year of relevant experience.
  • Clinical practice concentration and field practicum or recent work experience in health care agency or hospital, outpatient clinic, or other clinical practice setting.
  • Must have some experience working with traumatized and/or bereaved youth.
Certification/Licenses/
Registration:
  • Required: Licensure as a Master Social Worker (LMSW) by The Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners (TSBSWE).
Other
  • Qualifications for this position include skills, training, and motivation required to provide direct clinical work in evaluating and treating bereaved and/or traumatized children and adolescents.
  • Must work well in a multidisciplinary team setting and demonstrate the ability to promote an environment of positivity, collegiality, and good self-care.
