Summary

The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is located in the Jamail Specialty Care Center on the McNair Campus at Baylor College of Medicine.  We provide subspecialty care in the areas of Head and Neck Cancer, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Laryngology, Otology and Rhinology.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team.

Job Purpose

Ensures smooth and orderly functioning of the graduate program within a department by providing professional and accurate academic advisement counseling graduate students, maintaining files and statistical data and conducting an active recruitment program.

Job Responsibilties
  • Develops procedures within a department that coincide with the policies and mission of Baylor College of Medicine.
  • Organizes orientations, educational meetings, and conferences.
  • Acts as a liaison with internal and external constituents in order to accomplish educational goals in the recruitment and retention of residents and fellows.
  • Develops and disseminates communication related to educational activities and events.
  • Utilizes automated systems for tracking data related to the education program.
  • Secures confidential information (electronic or hard copy) and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Maintains alumni database, directory, maps and other information, brochures, etc. related to alumni and alumni information.
  • Receives and responds to all telephone or written requests for information regarding various graduate and student programs.
  • Maintains permanent applicant files and provides required information to Baylor’s Graduate Medical Education office.
  • Assures adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates information regarding conferences, events, and meetings in a timely manner to faculty, residents, fellows, department administrators, and other affected parties.
  • Coordinates the applicant interview process including making interview and meeting room reservations and providing feedback to the Program Director and/or Departments.
  • Provides administrative support to the GME and UME Program Directors
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
Experience:
  • Required: One year of relevant experience.

  • None required.
