Job Description

Job Purpose

To function as administrative liaison for the Assistant Directors in the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Centers by managing and maintaining the daily operations of the office, ensuring that department deadlines are met in a timely and professional manner, as well as perform diversified administrative and secretarial functions.

 

Job Responsibilties
  • Support procurement and ordering processes.
  • Manage calendar and meetings.
  • Compose, format, and proofread a variety of materials including typewritten correspondence, memoranda, and various reports as instructed.
  • Maintain meeting minutes and action items.
  • Maintain Program Website.
  • Prepare appropriate requisitions and obtains signatures and approvals for the purchase requests, contract renewals, purchase orders or any internal/external services.
  • Coordinate use of and access to and maintenance of institutional resources.
  • Serve as timekeeper for the managers who report to the Assistant Directors.
  • Coordinate employee training and department events.
  • Create requests for new and replacement positions.
  • Coordinate the on-boarding activities for new hires.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: High school graduate/GED.
Experience:
  • Required: Four years of directly relevant administrative experience.
Certification/Licenses/
Registration:
  • Required: None.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree
