Launched in February 2017, Global HOPE is transforming childhood cancer throughout Africa, beginning in Uganda, Botswana, and Malawi. Building on two decades of success treating HIV on the continent through the Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), Global HOPE is applying a proven approach to build local capacity and strengthen the healthcare infrastructure. Efforts underway include training specialized doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, improving access to high-quality medicines and state-of- the-art facilities, and conducting community awareness programs. The Global HOPE program is currently seeking an Administrative Associate to serve as the Baylor Admin Contact for the program.

Job Purpose
Plans, coordinates and directs broad and complex financial and/or management functions. May supervise financial/office support staff and manage personnel functions, including SAP HR functions, for the organizational unit.
Job Responsibilties
  • Creates and analyzes departmental financial reports using SAP, EPIC System, or other financial software packages.
  • Develops and monitors, or participates in the development and monitoring of, the budget of the organizational unit.
  • Monitors financial activity of the organizational unit by compiling, reviewing and reconciling the financial accounts.
  • May administer grants and contracts, pre-award (developing budgets, assisting in application preparation, etc.) and/or post-award (monitoring expenditures, preparing financial reports for faculty, etc.)
  • Creates ad hoc reports and financial projections; approves financial transactions.
  • May supervise financial and/or office support staff and direct their work activities.
  • Assists faculty and staff and answers questions.
  • Oversees the communication and implementation of college policy within the organizational unit.
  • Responds to questions concerning policy and develops internal policies and procedures.
  • May oversee entries in SAP for HR transactions, such as new hires, terminations, salary or FTE changes, etc.
  • Ensures that all internal personnel activities meet college and organizational objectives in training, recruitment, equal pay, equal opportunity, transfer and promotion.
  • Prepares and submits all necessary work visa petitions for international employees working at Gloval sites (domestic and foreign).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Accounting, Public Health, or Health Administration. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Required: Five years of relevant experience with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • None required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
