The Section of Hematology/Oncology of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine has an opening for a full-time faculty position at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio (CH of SA). This position comes with a faculty appointment within the Department of Pediatrics, a competitive salary, and full benefits package. The rank of the appointment will be determined by the candidates’ credentials and experience. 

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include medical director oversight of the newly established pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program at CH of SA; teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and staff; active involvement in inpatient quality, safety, and administrative activities; and protected time for academic/scholarly activities in clinical informatics, outcomes research, child advocacy, education, or quality improvement. 

  • Manage outpatient and/or inpatient care for Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant patients in a tertiary hospital setting. Inpatient attending time includes night and weekend calls and rounds. 
  • Education and supervision of trainees including fellows, residents and advanced practice practitioners. 
  • Perform procedures (bone marrow, lumbar puncture) on patients as indicated. 
  • Serve as backup and consultant for Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers physicians at our network of community hospitals.


Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: M.D. or D.O. degree. 
  • Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration Licensed by the Texas Medical Board. Board certification in Hematology/Oncology (or eligible for same).
