The Center for Drug Discovery (https://www.bcm.edu/research/centers/drug-discovery) is a strategic research center established at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas. The mission of the Center for Drug Discovery is to establish novel discovery technologies that enable rapid and cost-effective drug discovery within the academic community. Central to our vision is the continued establishment of a small-molecule discovery platform using a DNA-encoded chemistry approach. The team, led by scientists with drug discovery experience in academia and the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. BCM is located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center and offers a highly interactive environment and a strong infrastructure for research and career development.

Job Responsibilities:

As a member of this multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Develop an active research program focused on drug metabolism and using chemical biology approaches.
  • Function as the Assistant Director of the NMR and Drug Metabolism Core and collaborate with faculty in the CDD, at BCM, and in the TMC.
  • Submit grants and obtain grant funding.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform experiments relevant to drug metabolism.
  • Publish papers from his own laboratory research and in collaboration with others.
  • Teach classes and give local, regional, national, and international presentations.
  • Mentor students, technicians, postdocs, staff scientists, and faculty.
  • Work closely with investigators in the Center for Drug Discovery.
  • Attend weekly meetings of the Center for Drug Discovery.
