Job Purpose

The Samee Lab at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a Biostatistician. The candidate should have a strong understanding of statistical approaches for genomic data analysis, understanding of biophysical properties of nucleic acid molecules, and experience with programming in Python and/or R. A doctoral degree with a background in genomics and/or biophysics of nucleic acid molecules is preferred. Experienced candidates will have the opportunity to initiate their own independent research project. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Designs and develops database systems for clinical and basic research.
  • Designs and develops statistical analysis applications for research.
  • Analyzes and interprets data for various research grants.
  • Designs, develops and maintains clinical practice records, forms and computer programs.
  • Keep informed of and write computer programs to implement new statistical techniques.
  • May assist and train users on computer programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field.    
Experience:
  • Required: Two years of relevant experience.
Certification/Licenses/
Registration:
