Responsibilities: New College of Florida, one of the nation's leading public liberal arts colleges, invites qualified applicants to submit their credentials and application for the Assistant Director of Fellowships position.

This position is the college's sole administrative staff member responsible for counseling, mentoring, and advising all New College faculty and students who are interested in prestigious national and international scholarships, fellowships, and awards including the Fulbright, Goldwater, Gilman, and Critical Language Scholarship, among others.

As New College has long been a leader in producing prestigious scholarship awardees, this position has great strategic importance to the college. The successful candidate will bring critical attention to detail, and significant experience in understanding the expectations and selection criteria used by prestigious fellowships. Candidates' prior experience should reflect demonstrable results in advising students, providing actionable feedback, and soliciting student work product of the highest quality, and the ability to engage, motivate, and guide students through all phases of the fellowship process. The ability to develop quality criteria and timelines for each fellowship application process, and to establish processes for capturing and reporting outcomes will be critical to the position's success. This position will also collaborate with the CEO team to market and promote fellowship opportunities to the New College community ensuring student awareness and that consideration of fellowships is a part of career planning.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years' of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years' of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and two years' prior work in higher education, particularly in the liberal arts or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field with four years of academic or professional experience. Preference given for experience as a fellowship administrator, fellowship awardee or other directly related experience. Prefer experience seeking external funding.
Additional Information: The position requires background investigation that includes fingerprinting.
