Per course adjunct faculty the Counseling Program's course, COUN 292-01.

Qualifications:

COUN 292-01 - Assessment of Social, Emotional and Behavioral Skills

September 3, 2019 - December 10, 2019, Tuesday, 4:15pm - 7:00pm

The student will develop an understanding of the assessment of social, emotional and behavioral skills in the schools. The format of the course will be lecture, class discussion, case study presentations and lab work with test instruments. The course objectives are to provide the following:

√ A viable framework for understanding assessment of social, emotional and behavioral skills in the schools.

√ Familiarity with the impact of culture, race, socioeconomic status, gender, and age on social, emotional and behavioral skills development and assessment.

√ Beginning professional skills in the administration, scoring and interpretation of a battery of social, emotional and behavioral assessment instruments.

√ Beginning professional skills in the integration of results from an assessment into a complete psycho-diagnostic report.

Preference is given to instructors who are credentialed school psychologists with preK-12 urban school experience.
