Do you possess a completed PhD, or a Masters’ degree with a dissertation, ideally, with a strong quantitative analysis component to your thesis or dissertation? Do you have excellent quantitative data analysis skills, including experience of working with SPSS (or a similar statistical package) and an interest in diversity and inclusion and organisational change?
Leeds University Business School is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Fellow to work on a diversity and inclusion research project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and support the Principal Investigator (PI) with broader research data analysis on the same topic.
The ESRC project is a mixed-methods research project conducted in an action research mode with a major FTSE 100 company. A further small qualitative study has been carried out with another large employer organisation. As Research Fellow, you will work with the PI on analysis of quantitative and qualitative data for inclusion in reports, journal articles and presentations to different audiences (academic and non-academic). You must have excellent quantitative data analysis skills, including experience of working with SPSS or similar statistical package. You should have experience of writing reports and scholarly outputs with quantitative data and presenting the results in a professional manner. You will gain experience of mixed methods research including some work with NVIVO qualitative analysis software.
The ESRC research project address diversity and inclusion issues such as inclusivity and retention, career success, career development and promotion and the intersectionality of protected characteristics. Applicants need not have experience of working in this area but diversity and inclusion and organisational change are topics that should be of interest.
We are seeking applications from high quality candidates capable of providing high level research assistance. You must have successfully completed a postgraduate degree. Applicants without a PhD would be expected to demonstrate a high level of competence in quantitative data analysis and may have a background in statistics.
The position provides an opportunity for someone considering a longer-term career in research to gain experience of working on a large research project.
