Job Purpose
This position supports the Special Projects sponsored by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).  The individual in this role will provide both educational and administrative support for three Special Projects-Initiative for Maximizing Student Development, IMSD; Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program, PREP; and the Summer Medical Research Training program, SMART. This position will report to the SMART and IMSD/PREP directors.
Job Responsibilities

PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Serve as the project manager of education efforts for Special Projects.
  • Maintain longitudinal and active participation in all Special Projects curricula and in trainee and faculty development activities.
  • Liaise with Special Projects directors regarding course execution and logistics and instructional technology and assessment teams.
  • Participate in the collection and organization of assessments and program evaluation information, in coordination with Special Projects directors and assessment team.
  • Teach portions of PREP Molecular and Cellular Biology course.
  • Manage the IMSD summer review courses.
  • Participates in and maintains National Research Mentorship Network (NRMN) for Special Projects and support development of additional course components.
  • Assist with process for NRMN integration into GSBS programs.
  • Maintain and develop Special Projects websites and social media accounts.
  • Assist with SMART mentor matching.


ADMINISTRATION:
 

  • Manage, coordinate and maintain course files and records, calendars, timelines, and course-related correspondence, including submissions and presentations.
  • Assist with course applications and registration process.
  • Process PREP applications, interviews, and orientation.
  • Schedule meeting rooms, including coordination of audio-visual services when required.
  • Prepare course agendas and slide decks, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in course marketing/outreach.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or a related field.
Experience:
  • Required: Four years of relevant experience.
