Job Summary
The Department of Communication Arts & Media at Concord University invites applications for an instructor or assistant professor of Mass Communications (broadcasting) to begin spring 2020 (preferred) or fall 2020. Qualified applicants should be able to teach a variety of media courses including Basic Studio Production and Advanced Media Production as well as hands-on courses in television production in the University’s television studio.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
Responsibilities: This a 9-month position that requires teaching 12 credit hours per semester, advising undergraduate Mass Communication majors, and running the television workshop. Service to the program, department, College, and the broader academic community is also expected. Additionally, successful candidates will be expected to engage in professional development and scholarship. Summer employment is also a possibility.

Required Skills
Qualifications: Qualified applicants must hold a master’s degree in Mass Communication or a closely related field, but a terminal degree in Mass Communications or closely related field is preferred. Qualified applicants must also have 3-5 years of professional experience. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated record of effective teaching, television production, as well as expertise with a variety of social media and/or journalism.
