Summary

Pediatrics - Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition section is seeking an experienced Pediatric Gastroenterologist.

 

Physicians in the Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition treat children suffering from a wide range of intestinal, liver, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.  This Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital program is one of the largest and busiest in the United States. This position will primarily provide out-patient clinical care, in-patient coverage and in-patient consultation at the Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands Campus and related health center locations.  Responsibilities may include an active out-patient program with approximately 7 half-day sessions per week, one half-day procedure sessions and approximate one in four coverage of the in-patient and emergency room consultation services. The position will also involve collaborative clinical activities at least twice a month at Texas Children's Hospital on the Medical Center Campus.

Job Duties
  • Outpatient clinical care for children with all types of intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.  One or two sessions per month could be during nontraditional hours (evenings or weekends).
  • There is the potential for outpatient clinical care outside of TCH The Woodlands at related health centers
  • Inpatient care, consultation and emergency room consultation for children with all types of intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders.
  • General Pediatric Gastrointestinal Procedures (e.g. upper endoscopy and colonoscopy with related therapeutic procedures)
  • Night call for the Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands Campus Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Practice.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: M.D. or D.O., completion of an ACGME approved fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology (or equivalent) and board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Minimum Job Experience: Related experience required.
  • Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
