Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The candidate will work on degradation of nuclear materials in extreme environments using state of the art experimental characterization techniques such as in-situ spectroscopy, synchrotron radiation and electron microscopy. The specific research thrusts covered by this position deal with development of new advanced alloys for high temperature nuclear reactors, characterization of heat exchanger degradation in extreme environments and in-situ synchrotron diffraction experiments to better understand corrosion experiments.

DEGREE AND AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:
Ph. D in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, or related field

MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
3+ years post degree research with nuclear materials in extreme environments using in-situ spectroscopy, synchrotron radiation and electron microscopy.
