Position Summary
The Senior Resident Assistant (SRA) for Residential Education is responsible for assisting the Graduate Area Coordinator for Residential Education with the review and approval of Resident Assistants (RA) programming. The SRA for Residential Education organizes all shopping trips as scheduled on the activities calendar and manages the RA programming budget in regards to the RA expenditures. In addition, the SRA for Residential Education completes bulletin boards, programming, and handouts as outlined in the Resident Assistant position description.

This is a student position open to current UIW students.

This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions
Essential functions for Senior Resident Assistant for Residential Education include:
-Review and approve/deny passive and handout proposals for Broadway campus RAs;
-Initial review of active programming for Broadway campus RAs before passing on to Graduate Area Coordinator for Residential Education;
-Organizes signups for planned shopping trips;
-Responsible for documenting RA spending and preparing receipts;
-Maintains programming spreadsheets;
-Prepares bins for programming and events;
-Maintains programming closets;
-Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Familiarity with Microsoft Excel;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Current UIW student

Required Work Experience
-Successful completion of one (1) semester of employment as an RA with UIW Residence Life and Housing Operations
