Description of Job Duties
We are currently filling open positions for gallery student workers. These positions primarily involve loading artwork in and out of the on-campus galleries, as well as hanging and tearing down exhibits. Student workers are also expected to welcome and engage with patrons to the gallery by overseeing the security of the artwork and assisting guests with any questions they may have. Gallery workers will learn to work independently and with minimal supervision, but also communicate clearly with co-workers, patrons, and artists. It is necessary to meet artists’ needs while appropriately managing their time to complete a variety of tasks.

Job Qualifications
Requires strong interpersonal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to multitask and remain flexible with changing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel) is strongly preferred. Additionally, gallery staff must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds in order to safely assist in exhibit preparation.

Will this position be working with minors? No
Approximate number of work hours per week 7 – 12, but hours are flexible with picking up hang/tear down/reception shifts.
