Department Summary
The Doctorate of Physical Therapy will be housed in its own department at the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The department is part of the multi-disciplinary College of Health Arts and Sciences. This position has the opportunity to not only grow the program, but also a department with other academic and physical therapy colleagues.

Position Summary
Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), in partnership with Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU), is inviting enthusiastic, visionary candidates to apply for the position of Founding Program Director of the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT program). This position will report to the Dean of the College of Health, Arts & Sciences (HAS) at the OIT Klamath Falls location. The Program Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of a DPT program of excellence that prepares practitioners for entry level and evidenced based practice who are especially prepared for the diverse PT practice needs of rural settings. The Program Director will have expertise in curriculum development, accreditation requirements and academic administration. The Director will be expected to serve as the academic and operational leader, responsible for planning and management of the DPT program to include curriculum development, facility planning and preparation and compliance with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education’s (CAPTE) standards.

The Program Director will work collaboratively with an inter-institutional team of faculty from OIT and OHSU to achieve these ends and with OIT’s HAS College Dean in the development of OIT’s health science programs. They will pursue academic excellence within the program through their leadership, promote the program and enhance its viability, assist with recruitment and retention of students, and manage the day-to-day logistics of the program.

Minimum Requirements
Additional Requirements
• Physical therapist who is licensed or regulated in any United States jurisdiction as a PT and is eligible for or holds an Oregon PT license
• Earned academic doctorate (above the DPT degree)
• Holds the rank of associate or clinical associate professor
• Minimum of 6 years of full-time higher education experience with at least 3 years in physical therapist education
• Experience in curriculum design and faculty development
• Excellent communication and team-building skills
• Actively engaged in professional and/or community service activities
• Evidence of an established research agenda
• Strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence
• Knowledge regarding CAPTE accreditation requirements and processes
• Demonstrates ethical behavior in personal and professional life

Preferred Qualifications
• Holds the rank of professor or clinical professor
• Prior administrative experience
