Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: August 20, 2020

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidates will be teaching courses in the principal preparation and superintendent preparation programs focusing on 1) vision; 2) curriculum, instruction and assessment; 3) management; 4) relationships; 5) ethical leadership; and 6) advocacy and influence.
The candidates will also be responsible for supervising principal interns and superintendent interns.
Additionally, the successful candidates will be part of the educational leadership doctoral program (e.g., teaching courses and serving on dissertation committees).
There is a possibility for summer employment.
Supervise principal interns in Illinois and Iowa
Supervise superintendent interns in Illinois and Iowa
Successful candidates must be willing to teach graduate level educational leadership courses each semester (based on the candidate's area of expertise and experience) at the Macomb, Moline and WIU extension campuses and via video-conferencing.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership or an equivalent educational field conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). ABD will be considered, but degree must be conferred on or before July 1, 2020.
Five years experience in PreK-12 leadership specifically as a PreK-12 principal and/or PreK-12 superintendent,
Licensure as a principal and/or superintendent.
Knowledge of building-level and systems-level educational leadership.
Ability to teach graduate-level courses related to school-level and systems-level educational leadership.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Principal licensure - Both Illinois and Iowa preferred.
Superintendent licensure - Both Illinois and Iowa preferred.
Experience as both a principal and superintendent.
Experience mentoring and supervising school leaders and teachers.
Teaching experience (higher education/post secondary).
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.
