Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position’s primary responsibility is to provide CISESS with both pre-award and post-award management. Pre-award activities include assisting faculty in the development, preparation, and submission of proposals. The Manager ensures all proposals meet agency and university guidelines and deadlines and those proposals are entered and routed in a timely manner for further review. Post-award activities include detailed reconciliation of assigned projects, preparing budget reports, preparing adjustments and corrections for assigned projects for further review and approval in order to meet project goals and federal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

EXPERIENCE

4 years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting/forecasting, accounting/financial support or grants and contract post-award management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated proficiency in Excel to prepare and analyze complex spreadsheets.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to federal awards (UG, A-21/A-110).
Working knowledge of proposal systems (grants.gov).

Preferences:
Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, proven analytical skills, excellent customer service skills and a team player.
Demonstrated proficiency in various accounting and database systems such as KFS, ELF, COEUS and Priority (BA4), Kuali Research.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who takes direction well but can also work independently.
He/She will have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituents, including but not limited to university officials, faculty, staff, and sponsors. He/She will possess critical thinking skills, demonstrate the ability to solve problems, and take initiative to ultimately promote CISESS’s overall business effectiveness.
