ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, Schwarzman College of Computing, to perform complex and diverse duties in support of the Office of the Dean in the Schwarzman College, in direct support of the associate deans for the Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC). Will provide administrative support for SERC programs and projects, using knowledge of MIT and other departments to anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations and coordinate these activities within the Dean’s Office and across the college. Activities include calendar meeting management, maintaining financial records, acting as a receptionist, screening telephone calls and visitors, assisting with or responding to internal requests for information and reports, arranging meetings and taking minutes, file maintenance, planning/coordinating high profile events and meetings, arranging travel and maintaining supporting documentation, and perform other duties as assigned. This is a shared position requiring proactive communication regarding priorities, workload, and time-management.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ secretarial/office/related experience; excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, grammar, and proofreading skills; good judgment with confidential information; sensitivity to organizational dynamics; attention to detail; initiative; experience updating websites; proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, FileMaker Pro, and Cognos; comfort with PCs and Macs and ability to identify and learn new programs/software as needed; flexibility; and experience arranging travel and expense reimbursements, paying invoices, ordering supplies, and reconciling accounts. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborate effectively with others at all levels, work as part of a team, move and lift objects weighing up to 20lbs., and function autonomously in a highly visible position in a fast-paced setting.
