A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute in the Division of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences.

We utilize both human and murine platelets, and we have institutionally-approved protocols to isolate platelets from patients with common and rare vascular disorders. We presently are focusing on a family of G-Protein-Coupled Receptors which regulate platelet function under conditions of mechanical strain, and so the project would be ideal for an individual with a background in biomedical engineering, pharmacology, or biochemistry. An additional project focuses on thrombus formation and properties of thrombus in patients with pulmonary embolism.

Position Requirements and Preferences
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or M.D. with significant research experience). Prospective candidates must be creative, self-motivated and capable of working independently. Candidates must be proficient in both spoken and written communication in English. Special consideration will be given to applicants with substantial experience in platelet biology, but training will be given.
