DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

The Industrial and Management Systems Engineering (IMSE) Department conducts teaching, research and service activities in areas related to Industrial Engineering, Analytics, Engineering Management, Operations Research & Management Science, and Manufacturing. IMSE grants Bachelor, Masters, and PhD degrees in IE, a master?s degree in engineering management (MSEM), four graduate certificates and an internal college minor in Engineering Management. The IMSE department currently has the following number of students: 220 in BSIE, 161 in MSEM, 48 in MSIE, and 25 doctoral students. Currently IMSE has 15 faculty members; more than half-dozen professors of practice, and two staff.

DUTIES:

Support faculty with accomplishing the academic mission of the department including hiring, tenure & promotion processes, annual evaluations, travel, and space using the university resources including GEMS, FAIR, and OASIS.

Develop, implement, and disseminate strategies and materials to recruit and retain undergraduate and graduate students. Coordinate, communicate, interact, with community colleges, high schools, middle schools, companies, alumni, community, and USF admissions and diversity events to promote IMSE academic programs and undergraduate student recruitment.

Act as liason with other units in the college, university, as needed, to support smooth progress and timely graduation of undergraduate and graduate students. Attend to student issues promptly and fairly.

Supervise Academic Services Program Specialist and FWS students. Maintain an efficient student/faculty supportive working environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


MINIIMUM

This position requires a Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor’s degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience.

PREFERRED

Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, with a minimum of two years of experience.
