Job Description
​•​Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education (online and on campus)
​•Advise undergraduate and graduate special education and elementary inclusive education candidates
​•Mentor graduate students through comprehensive examinations and scholarly projects
​•Supervise and facilitate field experiences in Special Education
​•Engage in scholarly achievement, professional development, and service to students, university, and community
​•Contribute to the School of Teaching and Learning through committee work, meetings, accreditation processes, and other departmental responsibilities​

Required Qualifications
​•Doctoral Degree in Special Education, Education, or Related Field by the time of first contract day
​•Record of three or more years of successful teaching experience in K-12 Special Education settings including teaching students with differing levels of disability (mild, moderate, and/or severe)
​•Record of special education licensure in one or more of the following disability areas: Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, High-Functioning Autism, Early Childhood Special Education and/or Development/Cognitive Disabilities
​•Record of successful teaching in higher education including online teaching experience
​•Record of experience with diverse populations
​•Record of collaborative experiences
​•Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive philosophy
​•Evidence of strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication

Preferred Qualifications
​•Experience co-teaching and/or collaborating in inclusive environments
​•Demonstrated ability to teach methods and assessment coursework in Special Education
​•Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and provide evidence of assignments related to standards
​•Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and involvement in professional organizations
​•Record of scholarly achievement or other creative professional work, service, and engagement in P-12 settings
