Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Medicine – Infectious Diseases at the New Jersey Medical School.
Under direction of a faculty member, the Postdoctoral Fellow assists in the conduct of highly specialized and technical research focused on development of radiomics as a translational and clinical platform in tuberculosis (TB) and other infectious diseases. The Postdoctoral fellow will work in a new and growing research group with opportunities to develop and design one’s own projects, as well as training and mentorship opportunities in clinical/translational research and medical imaging informatics.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Generates and conducts supervised or unsupervised radiomics analyses from animal or human imaging (eg. lung PET/CT, MRI) studies to predict lesion histopathology and treatment responses.
Adapt and train radiomic signatures to relevant clinical research endpoints such as evaluation of new tuberculosis therapies, study of early-stage disease evolution, and individualizing treatment.
Develops automated algorithms to segment lesions from 3D imaging data.
Analyzes transcriptomic and genomic data from international clinical studies.
Works under minimal supervision and contributes to experimental design.
Prepares manuscripts for publication of generated data.
Conducts part of the research work in collaborating centers at international sites.
Assists in training graduate students and technicians and performs other related duties as assigned.
Assists in drafting study analysis protocols.
Assists with grant application preparation as needed.
Participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
Assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the department.
