Job Description

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is a scientific government institution that supports and enhances scientific applied research. It coordinates the activities of government institutions and scientific research centers in accordance with the requirements of the development of the Kingdom. It also cooperates with the relevant authorities in identifying national priorities and policies in technology and science so as to build a scientific and technological basis that serves development in agriculture, industry, mining, etc. It also aims at developing national competences and recruiting highly qualified specialists to help develop and control modern technology in order to serve development in the Kingdom. KACST comprises all the requirements of scientific research, such as laboratories, means of communications, information sources and all necessary facilities. 

Communications & Information Technology Research Institute (CITRI) in KACST is developing advanced communication and software systems and conducting research in various areas. CITRI has established lab facilities to conduct research in computing, communication and electronics. CITRI conducts research and development projects in are as related to computer networks, Internet of Things (IoT), software development and data analytics for different types of data including text, voice and image. It employs for such projects high performance computing facilities. These facilities are also available for users from outside KACST. CITRI jointly built SANAM supercomputer with FIAS in 2012 ranking second that year in the Green500 list with a power efficiency of 2.3GFLOPS/W (Rohr et al., 2014). SANAM is a heterogeneous accelerator-based HPC system that has 300 compute nodes. Each node includes two Intel Xeon E5?2650CPUs, two AMD FirePro S10000 dual GPUs and 128 GiB of main memory. 

Position Description
The Postdoctoral Fellow must have a doctoral qualification in Computer Science with a demonstrated track-record of innovation and experience conducting research in Visualization, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Deep Learning for Simulations. It is essential to master building software in the following programming languages / frameworks: Javascript, C++,C#, Python, ITK, OpenCV and hands-on experience in OpenCL applications and libraries and preferable in QCGPU and PlaidML. He/she must show a high level of oral and written communication and ability to represent the team at national and international conferences or events.
