Responsibilities

Establish and implement strategies to recruit incoming students meeting stated new student financial, academic, and demographic goals. Oversee application process. Hire, mentor and supervise professional staff. Directly plan and collaborate with institutional partners (Vice Presidents/Provosts, Academic Deans, Student Life, Business and Finance, Enrollment Services, College Communications; Athletics; Development/ Advancement/ Alumni Relations; Mission; Physical Plant). Evaluate recruiting and financial aid leveraging strategies and make informed, data-driven recommendations to improve efficacy of recruitment efforts. Develop a culture of success in the Admissions Department. Create informed polices and procedures to ensure excellent student services.

1. Development and execution of admissions recruitment plans to enroll incoming first-time, transfer students, and international students to meet the College's financial, academic, demographic short and long-term enrollment goals. Development of recruitment communication plan for prospective student search, as well as for applicants, and yield. Work with College Marketing for development of print publications, digital marketing, and social media. Work with vendors/partners for generation of inquiries.
2. Directly supervise and evaluate associate directors. Plan and conduct regular staff meetings. Provide coaching and assistance to ensure that counselors meet stated enrollment goals. Plan and evaluate the counselors' territories. Evaluate activities and strategies for effectiveness and return on investment. Develop and manage operations budget.

3. Establish and develop relationships with external organizations, including community college partners and college bound organizations, in addition to other established partnership opportunities. Align institutions to build student pipelines through these organizations.
4. Provide reports and analysis needed to ensure that strategies are on target to meet established goals. Make recommendations for adjustments when needed.
5. Review and evaluate admissions criteria, making recommendations where necessary.

6. Work with financial aid consultants to develop effective leveraging plan, merit scholarship strategy, ensuring that student quality, diversity, and revenue goals are met.

Experience:
REQUIRED: 8 years overall in Admissions/Higher Education
PREFERRED: 6 years of Admissions leadership

Skills / Abilities: Proficiency in software systems (e.g. Slate CRM, Datatel Student Record system; ImageNow document imaging) and the Microsoft suite of applications (word/exceljaccess/powerpoint.) Ongoing need for writing copy for electronic and print correspondence, social media, and publications appropriate to a selective collegiate institution. Needs to persuasively and diplomatically convey orally and in writing College policies, including decisions to deny admission as well as offer acceptance.

Other Requirements: Required to frequently work evenings and weekends throughout the year (for field work in September, October, April or to contend with seasonal application surges requiring considerable evening and weekend work from November through March. Seasonal requirement for travel related to recruitment, presentations, attendance at conferences, representation of the College as chief admissions representative locally, regionally, nationally (e.g. September/October/May.) This typically involves at least 3-4 weeks away from home annually.
