Job Summary

Support faculty members and speakers with their use of multimedia technology in Faculty of Arts and Sciences classrooms.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

Provide media technology support for classes and events;
Oversees capture hardware installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting;
Responsible for supervising classroom recordings and provisioning course catalogs;
Document technical problems and develops solutions and work-arounds for failures;
Regularly update HUIT and is in direct contact with the technical staff;
Works with FAS and other Harvard faculty to meet their classroom technology needs;
Set up and break down various classroom technology throughout the day;
Perform video recording and content delivery for faculty;
Conduct classroom integration, explore options and collaboration with Harvard University departments beyond FAS;
Research, pilot, and explore new solutions to improve overall workflow of technical services;
Responsible for implementing some IT solutions and the design of video signal flow;
Perform repairs on classroom equipment. on component level electronics, various mechanical issues, and installed equipment;
Provide event production and support and client needs;
Provide administrative and clerical duties include daily monitoring of our video recording and archive, update classroom support sheets, notify team of any updates of equipment or new solutions, organize and schede meetings with faculty and TFs, coordinate with clients, design and distribute classroom signs, and answer phone calls;
Perform event services during weekend and evening hours.

Basic Qualifications

Two years working with multimedia equipment;
At least two years of completed college courses.

Additional Qualifications

College degree preferred;
Successful experience providing multimedia customer service in a fast-paced, academic environment;
Proven ability to supervise, deliver professional customer service, and to manage multiple simultaneous work assignments;
Analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical process issues;
Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
CTS certification; Crestron DMC-E; experience with Dante;
College background in related multimedia and /or technology preferred;
Ability to work with a range of constituents and to develop solutions to service problems in a client-friendly manner;
Knowledge of a range of computer software and operating systems is preferred.
