Seeking an immediate, on-call, temporary, Pianist.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Liturgy, On Call Liturgical Musicians assist in the planning, preparation, rehearsal, and liturgical ministry of music for the liturgies of the Mission & Ministry Center. On-Call Liturgical Musicians should be personally prepared (rehearsed) prior to each liturgy, and knowledgeable about the Service as a music minister should foster the full and active participation of the liturgical assembly as the primary function of music ministry. Assisting the cantor and Assistant Director of Liturgy in the preparation, rehearsal, and leadership of the choir and the liturgical assembly.

The liturgies of the Mission & Ministry Center include the weekly 8pm Sunday liturgy (held on almost all Sundays of the SMC Academic Year), and a varying series of seasonal and special liturgies held on specific, non-Sunday dates: Welcome Liturgy

(August), Mass of the Holy Spirit (September), All Saints Day (November 1), Immaculate Conception (December 8), Ash Wednesday (February/March), Commencement Liturgy (May), and others as determined by supervisor.

Experience- At least 2 years of experience with Catholic liturgical music ministry in a parish or higher education setting, including providing musical leadership and . accompaniment in Roman Catholic Liturgy

Experience and Qualifications
Skills/ Abilities- Professional level fluency in piano, guitar, strings, woodwinds, or another musical instrument. Knowledge and familiarity with Catholic liturgical music, traditional, modern, and new trends. Ability to serve as a rehearsal accompanist. Flexibility to arrange, rework, and improvise music during liturgy as needed.

Other Requirements- Evening and weekend work required, in addition to hours during weekdays to meet with supervisor.
