Project Administrator

The Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Project Administrator who is well versed with institutional and external clinical research guidelines. This person should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as budget and program management experience. A strong candidate will have an understanding of polices that guide clinical research including adhering to Good Clinical Practices, ICH Guidelines, and IRB and FDA requirements. This person will work closely with principal investigators and other study staff to develop and implement protocols and ensure that study goals are met for multiple research sites. Communication between Johns Hopkins, Unitaid, and other partners is a priority.

The Project Administrator coordinates all the administrative aspects of the research which is focused on brining long-acting treatments for malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis to low- and middle-income countries. The Administrator will ensure that Johns Hopkins investigators are complying with Unitaid requirements, assists in various administrative aspects of research, and manages office services such as purchasing, payroll, record control and other administrative activities for the research team. Also desired are strong sponsored management skills, especially post- award invoicing, monitoring, and reporting.

As time and resources permit, other related scientific efforts may need administrative support as this program expands and integrates additional related projects. It would be expected to contribute when there is a similar scope of work and essential roles.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

Master's degree in Business, Public Health, Finance, or other closely related field required.

Five (5) years of project management experience, and experience participating in large clinical/research trials required, and experience working with Unitaid helpful.

Additional closely related experience may substitute for master's degree, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula: 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.*

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Uses Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word. Uses spreadsheets, statistical packages and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and format data and reports. Creates web databases using REDCap software. In addition, uses HopkinsOne and COEUS for preparation of sponsored project proposals and maintenance of awards.
