Description:The Performing Arts Theatre Program seeks a dynamic professional theatre artist with a record of creative achievement at the regional or national level, for a one-year Visiting Professor appointment. The successful candidate will be able to engage students both intellectually and creatively and foster both academic rigor and artistic excellence. The Visiting Professor will direct a musical theatre production in the mainstage season, and teach one or more classes in the acting sequence, such as Acting I: Principles of Performance, Acting II (Characterization and Scene Study), and Performance Labs. Experience in solo performance or devised theatre is highly desirable, as is demonstrated attention to community-building, social justice, diversity and inclusion. This full-time appointment includes the expectation of service to both program and College including: advising majors and minors, mentoring capstone projects, involvement in the annual scholarship selection process and other recruitment activities, as well as service on appropriate department and program committees. Opportunities to contribute may include curriculum development, creative collaboration with other faculty members, and cultivation of community partnerships beyond the institution.

*MFA in Directing or Acting OR PhD in Performance Studies, Theatre Studies or related field OR a distinguished record of regional or national achievement as a professional theatre director or actor.
*Significant experience in directing musical theatre is highly desirable.
*A record of successful teaching at the university level.
*Demonstrated excellence as a theatre director.
*Active engagement in scholarly and/or creative research.
