Summary

Serve as Associate Director of Pathology Informatics for the Department of Pathology  for the Texas Children's System

Job Duties

•    Assist the Director with oversight for the Pathology Informatics program at Texas Children's.  
•    Participate in the development of a strategic plan for a progressive informatics program that addresses service objectives defined by the department and the health care system. 
•    Develop guidelines and protocols with respect to orders and results reporting to and from Pathology and other sources of laboratory data managed by Pathology. Participate in protocol and guideline development with external systems such as city, state and federal health care agencies and other entities duly authorized to receive clinical data. The Associate Director is responsible for reviewing compliance with internal policies and external regulatory guidelines with regard to Pathology data management.
•    Provide and foster training and education for Pathology residents and fellows in informatics and related aspects of management, including assisting in developing and participating in an ABP certified Clinical Informatics program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required: M.D. or equivalent
Experience Required: completion of informatics fellowship or documented experience in managing some or all aspects of Pathology informatics
Certification/Licenses/Registration: Board certification in anatomic pathology or clinical pathology. Board eligible or certification in informatics preferred.
